welcome
ICF Berlin is a Christian church grounded in the Bible: authentic, relevant, and passionate about life with Jesus.
ICF stands for “International Christian Fellowship,” and here’s what that means in practice: We are a Christian church that’s in tune with the times, creative, innovative, and sometimes even a little bit crazy! With a clear “yes” to life and all the opportunities available to us today, we live out this dream every day. Our goal is to inspire people to live a life with Jesus Christ.
In this church, we can encounter and get to know God personally, build relationships with others, and use and develop our talents and gifts. We want to share the best news—that God loves us and desires a personal relationship with us—in a way that resonates with today’s world.
A new church experience!
We warmly welcome you to a Celebration at ICF Berlin, at our location in Grünheide, or at our Micro Churches throughout Germany.
If you have any questions, we’d be happy to answer them via email or in person after the celebration in the lounge over coffee or a drink. What’s particularly important to us is this: people aren’t there for the church; rather, the church—including the ICF—is there for the people.

Our mission
As a church, it is our passion that people become more like Jesus Christ, live fearlessly and change their environment for the better.
Our values
Membership
There is no formal membership in the ICF. Generally speaking, if you feel a sense of belonging to the ICF, then the ICF is your church. Here you can live out your faith together with others, share all aspects of life, contribute your talents and gifts, and build a church for yourself and your friends.
One thing is very important to us: Everyone is warmly welcome in our church—regardless of their personal background, personal beliefs, and regardless of whether they are actively involved in the church or not.
FINANCING
Our church is important to us—so important, in fact, that we fund it ourselves. It is a family. And in every family, everyone shares a bit of the responsibility. Each person contributes according to their ability, but everyone is incredibly important. We do not receive church taxes or membership fees; instead, we rely entirely on donations. As a nonprofit organization, we can issue donation receipts.
Our history
Some stories don’t start on a grand stage. They start with a vision in the hearts of a few people.
In 1999, Stefan and Kathrin moved to Berlin. A city steeped in history, full of contrasts—and full of people who don’t yet know God. They didn’t arrive with a grand plan. No set structure. But they brought a passion for Jesus and for people. And slowly, something began to take shape.
2004
Twelve people. No grand stage. But a vision: To build a church that is modern, authentic, and relevant to everyday life. A church where people don’t just hear God—they experience Him. The church is born from the dream of creating a church that is dynamic, relevant, and in tune with the times.
2006
In the early years, teams, a worship culture, and a growing community take shape.
2010
ICF Berlin fosters a strong culture of volunteerism, creative communication, and community. Modern services combine music, videos, and sermons to reach people in a way that resonates with today’s generation.
2018
Groups, community structures, and new formats help people live out their faith in their daily lives.
2020
During the pandemic, the church is moving online, and worship services are reaching people far beyond Berlin. Live-streamed services are becoming an integral part of the church.
NOW
Today, ICF Berlin is a creative church where people encounter God, experience fellowship, and put their gifts to use.
THEN
THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
This vision brought a new kind of church to Berlin—a church in tune with the times that appeals to and inspires the younger generation in particular. Today, as ICF Berlin, we are a spiritual home for people of all ages. In 2004, Stefan and Kathrin Hänsch started a house church in their living room with a group of 12 people, and it has since grown into a major church for Berlin.
