Our Leadership

Core Team

As the Core Team, we continually reach out for God’s ideas and plans and place Him at the center of everything in this church. Together, we wrestle and strive for divine guidance, wise strategies, and sound decisions that keep the church’s vision, direction, and well-being in mind. Together, we prepare ourselves for the adventures that await us in the future!

Code of honor

That is why we too – like runners in a race – want to run towards the finish line with all our endurance. We want to cast off everything that hinders us from running, separate ourselves from the sin that so easily captivates us and set our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer of faith, who has gone ahead of us to the finish line.”

The Bible – Hebrews 12:1-2 (New Testament)

As staff members and key leaders at ICF Berlin, it is our deep desire to finish the race of faith “victoriously” (cf. 1 Corinthians 9:24ff). We are committed to living according to biblical and moral standards. After numerous discussions about the lifestyle of church leaders and inspired by the “Modesto Manifesto” by Billy Graham and his friends, we have agreed upon a set of voluntary principles: the “Code of Honor for ICF Berlin Staff.”

Wages and finances

ICF Berlin is a registered nonprofit organization. It is funded by voluntary donations.
All staff members are paid according to a salary model that is independent of commissions. This model is based on comparable organizations and industries and reflects the values of ICF. All proceeds from the sale of ICF Media products—such as books, music, and apps—go entirely to the organization.
Upon request, we provide transparency regarding our finances. We are committed to complying with all legal requirements and voluntarily take steps to build trust, such as having our organization’s (or organizations’) accounts audited and publishing an annual report. Financial commitments that go beyond day-to-day operations and involve a certain amount are always subject to a dual-approval process.

Health and sexuality

We maintain a healthy and addiction-free lifestyle. We actively and responsibly work to prevent sexual sin.
As an organization, we take preventive measures against sexual abuse and sexual boundary violations. We pay particular attention to the protection of minors. Key elements of our protection policy include a sensitivity-training-based hiring process, staff training, and a code of conduct for employees. To this end, we collaborate with an expert from GJW Berlin-Brandenburg (www.gjw-bb.de).
We care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our staff and volunteers. We observe the Sabbath and promote a life rooted in rest. We offer flexible work arrangements tailored to different life stages.

Power and competencies

We adhere to and are committed to the mission statement of ICF Berlin.
We exercise the authority and responsibilities entrusted to us in a responsible manner and actively work to prevent the abuse of power.
As Lead Pastors, Stefan and Kathrin Hänsch lead the organization and, consequently, the Core Team as its leadership team. In the Core Team, every opinion counts, and in our teams, we live out the principle of complementarity (men, women, personalities, gifts). We wrestle with decisions until everyone can support them and no one has any serious reservations.
As ICF Berlin, we are accountable to the leadership of the ICF Movement Core Team. Together, we regularly reflect on the health of the ministries, the church, and the movement.
We carefully train leaders, raise awareness for a healthy lifestyle, and promote an active culture of conflict resolution and feedback.
Strategic and operational responsibility is assigned to the respective departments, satellite operations, and locations in the sense of self-organized and self-responsible teams. Authority over the organization’s legal affairs is distributed among two authorized signatories.

Credibility and integrity

We are committed to making faith in Jesus Christ and His Word the priority and foundation for our words and actions.
The figures and statistics we publish are accurate. We have commissioned and appointed an independent, external clearing office (ombudsman’s office) that is
not subject to our directives. Every person from the church and its surrounding has the possibility to report to them conflicts with leadership, suspicion of abuse of power, or observations of unhealthy behavior. Information and links: www.icf.church/clearing-stelle.

May God help us to live faithfully, passionately and in an exemplary manner.
