Code of Honor

for ICF Zurich Staff

“That is why we, too—like runners in a race—want to run toward the goal with all perseverance. We want to lay aside everything that hinders us as we run, separate ourselves from the sin that so easily entangles us, and fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer of faith, who has gone ahead of us to the finish.”

The Bible – Hebrews 12:1–2 (NGÜ)

As employees and Core Leaders at ICF Zurich, it is our deep desire to finish the race of faith victoriously. We are determined to live by biblical moral standards. After many conversations about lifestyle as leaders in the church, and inspired by the “Modesto Manifesto” by Billy Graham and his friends, we agree on a set of voluntary principles: the “Code of Honor for ICF Zurich Staff”.

ICF Zurich is an association. It is funded by voluntary donations. A salary model independent of commissions applies to all staff. The proceeds from sales of all ICF Media products, such as books, music, and apps, flow entirely into the organization. Upon request, we provide insight into our finances. We are committed to complying with legal requirements, such as the regular auditing of the accounts of our associations.

We cultivate a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle. We actively and personally take responsibility to resist sexual sin. As an organization, we take preventive measures against sexual abuse and sexual boundary violations, such as a sensitized application process, staff training, and a code of conduct for employees. For this, we work together with the specialist office “Limita”. Every person in our church has the right and the duty, in case of suspicion, to contact the national and independent specialist office “Opferhilfe”.

We submit to and commit ourselves to the mission statement of ICF Zurich. We use entrusted power and responsibilities responsibly and actively counteract abuse of power. Leo and Susanna Bigger lead the organization as Senior Pastors and therefore also the Core Team as its leadership team. In the Core Team, every opinion counts. We work through decisions until everyone can support them and no one has any serious reservations. Strategic and operational responsibility is assigned to the respective areas, side businesses, and locations in the sense of self-organized teams. Responsibilities in the legal branches of the organization are always distributed between two authorized signatories.

Our published figures and statistics are truthful. We have commissioned and appointed an independent, external, and non-instructed clearing office (ombuds office). Every person from the church and its wider community has the opportunity to report there in the event of conflicts with leadership, suspicion of abuse of power, or observation of unhealthy behavior. May God help us to live faithfully, passionately, and as a role model.
