Inheritance and legacy

Building God’s Kingdom beyond your lifetime

You have the option of including the ICF Foundation in your will. Alongside providing for your loved ones, a legacy to the ICF Foundation can be a way to keep building God’s Kingdom beyond your lifetime.

If you would like to include the ICF Foundation in your will, we offer you the opportunity for a personal conversation. You should be able to share your wishes and concerns in peace.

We would be happy to invite you to a no-obligation conversation with Joel Baumgartner, Head of Finance and HR. We look forward to hearing from you by phone +41 43 366 76 15 or by email: [email protected]

Will

Arrange your estate consciously

In a will or last will and testament, you can decide how your inheritance is handled in addition to the legally defined compulsory portions. If there is no spouse and no relatives still alive, without a will the entire estate goes to the state. A will is only legally valid if it is a handwritten will or a notarised public will.

Handwritten will

A handwritten will is the simplest form of a last will and testament. It should be clearly legible and written by hand. It is important that it is titled “Will” and includes the place, date and signature. Beneficiaries—people or institutions—should be listed as precisely as possible with name and address.

Public will

A public will is used when a handwritten document is not possible. In the presence of two witnesses, the public will is drawn up according to your wishes by an authorised official, for example a notary.

Appointment of heirs

In addition to the legally required compulsory portion, you can appoint further heirs. This can be one or more people, or an Organization.

Bequest / legacy

A bequest or legacy specifies within the will a certain sum of money or a specific item—such as artworks, securities or a property—that is to go to a beneficiary, whether a person or an Organization.
