‘Hell, hope, homecoming’ – the dramatic abduction of the Asher family
The Asher family will remember 7 October 2023 forever. Yoni had to watch as his wife and two children were abducted on a tractor to the Gaza Strip. The gates of hell opened in his mind’s eye.
After the initial shock, Yoni began to act. He desperately searched for ways to free his loved ones – without knowing whether they were still alive or already dead.
It was only after 49 days, as part of a prisoner exchange, that the family was finally able to embrace each other again.
