In this sermon Scott Thomas explains why Israel endures: the roots of our faith are Jewish covenants and God’s promises, pictured by Paul as a powerful olive tree in Romans 11. Israel was not abandoned; branches were broken off and Gentile branches (you) were grafted in so the whole tree can flourish (Romans 11:1, 11:25–26).
Practical takeaway: stay rooted — draw from the covenants (Genesis 15), the trunk of Jesus, and the life-giving Spirit so your faith produces fruit for others (Matthew 5; John 4). Your role is humble witness, not replacement; live with love, joy, and peace so others want what you have.
Reflection/action: consider how your life shows the fruit of the Spirit; commit to blessing and remembering Israel as part of God’s ongoing plan.
