We want to help you with God’s help in our debt coaching to become a good steward, make better financial decisions and be debt free.

What we offer:

• Overview of income, expenses and debt situation
• Help with your household and budget planning
• Implementing budgets in everyday life
• First steps towards debt reduction
• Longer-term support to develop good money management skills
• Support to increase income through applications such as housing benefit
• We handle your data confidentially
• Debt coaching is free of charge

What we do not offer:

• Insolvency counseling
• Legal or tax advice
• Negotiations with creditors
• Loans

However, experience has shown that you can tackle many of these issues on your own if you have support. So take advantage of our coaching and then take the appropriate steps.

What we expect from you:

Sustainable and successful debt settlement requires active and reliable cooperation from you through

• Disclosure of personal financial situation
• Adherence to agreements and deadlines
• Examine your own spending and consumer behavior
• Self-initiated requests for a companion who supports the process in a friendly manner

Debts arise from very different and individual decisions, some of which are based on inner processes that have nothing directly to do with money. God wants to lead you into inner freedom so that you can make different decisions as a result.

We would like to help you with this by providing you with a companion in addition to your debt coach who will accompany the process from a friendly perspective. This person should have completed EXPLORE and GET FREE so that they can provide you with the best possible support on your journey if the problem goes beyond purely financial expertise.

Please ask your network who would take the time to do this (e.g. your group leader or other friends). If you don’t know anyone, we will put you in touch with someone from the Pastoral Care Team if possible.

Information for the companion:

Thank you for taking the time to accompany someone in the debt process, regardless of your own financial expertise. The following is the effort required of you as a companion:

• You are present at all debt coaching appointments
• If required, you can offer 1-to-1 support with to dos
• You ask questions and encourage the other person on their way
• You accompany the process in prayer through intercession

After registration, we will contact you as a companion to discuss open questions and procedures.

At our start date, we will get to know you and your companion and together we will get an overview of the current situation in order to determine the next steps. Please prepare for this meeting as follows:

1. bring an up-to-date overview of all income and expenditure. Here is a Blanco budget plan if you need a detailed template.

2. bring a list of all debts.

3. please watch the following clips:

4. bring the signed data protection declaration with you, which we will send you by e-mail after your registration.
